Before you call Kin

Call us first. We read your policy, then report the claim to Kin in writing, with the facts and photos that support it.
Before anything is thrown out, photograph and video every room, the roof and the outside, and keep damaged items. Make only the repairs needed to stop more damage, and keep every receipt.
Talk to us before you give a statement or sign anything, whether it comes from the insurance company or a contractor.
We get the full policy, not just the declarations page, because the endorsements and exclusions decide the claim.

Your deadlines and Kin’s, in Florida

Notice of the claim must be given within 1 year of the date of loss for a new or reopened claim, and within 18 months for a supplemental claim (Fla. Stat. §627.70132). We give that notice for you.
The insurer acknowledges your claim within 7 days, sends you its adjuster’s detailed estimate within 7 days after the adjuster prepares it, and pays or denies within 60 days of notice unless factors beyond its control intervene (Fla. Stat. §627.70131).
If you disagree on the amount, your options include re-documenting and negotiating, the appraisal clause in your policy, and free mediation through the Florida Department of Financial Services. See every option, compared.

Where Kin claims most often need help

Kin writes homeowners, rental dwelling and condo unit policies, plus more than 15,000 mobile home policies, so its claims range from roof and water losses on homes to wind damage on manufactured homes. See mobile and manufactured home claims and the roof-repair code change.

How Homeland helps with your Kin claim
