Safepoint and Manatee Insurance Claim Help

Former Safepoint policies, now Manatee Insurance Exchange. Call Homeland first.

Before you call Manatee

Call us first. We read your policy, then report the claim to Manatee in writing, with the facts and photos that support it.
Before anything is thrown out, photograph and video every room, the roof and the outside, and keep damaged items. Make only the repairs needed to stop more damage, and keep every receipt.
Talk to us before you give a statement or sign anything, whether it comes from the insurance company or a contractor.
We get the full policy, not just the declarations page, because the endorsements and exclusions decide the claim.

Your deadlines and Manatee’s, in Florida

Notice of the claim must be given within 1 year of the date of loss for a new or reopened claim, and within 18 months for a supplemental claim (Fla. Stat. §627.70132). We give that notice for you.
The insurer acknowledges your claim within 7 days, sends you its adjuster’s detailed estimate within 7 days after the adjuster prepares it, and pays or denies within 60 days of notice unless factors beyond its control intervene (Fla. Stat. §627.70131).
If you disagree on the amount, your options include re-documenting and negotiating, the appraisal clause in your policy, and free mediation through the Florida Department of Financial Services. See every option, compared.

What a reciprocal exchange means for your claim

According to Manatee, a reciprocal exchange is an insurer owned by its policyholders, called subscribers, and run by a separate manager called an attorney-in-fact. Manatee’s attorney-in-fact is Manatee Risk Management. For your claim, the rules are the same as with any Florida insurer: the same policy duties, the same deadlines, and the same right to hire a public adjuster.

Where Manatee claims most often need help

Manatee writes homeowners, rental dwelling, condo unit and mobile home policies. When a policy moves from one company to another, check whether the coverage or deductibles changed at renewal; Manatee says its coverage options mirror Safepoint’s. A loss is covered by the company whose policy was in force on the date of loss.

How Homeland helps with your Manatee claim

We represent you, not the insurance company. We read your policy, document the loss, prepare a line-item estimate, and handle the claim with Manatee’s adjusters from start to finish, in English or Spanish. If Manatee has already paid or denied, upload the letter or estimate to Claim Review for a free first read.
