Roof corner and eave blown open on a house, the kind of new damage a homeowner photographs before calling a public adjuster

Start My Claim: Upload Your Photos, Get a Licensed Public Adjuster

Take a few photos of the damage and upload them. In about a minute you’ll see what they show and what to photograph next, and a licensed public adjuster is on the phone with you.

Short answer: the first hours after damage decide how a claim goes. Photograph everything before anyone cleans up or repairs, then get a licensed public adjuster involved before the insurance company’s adjuster sets the story. Start My Claim reads your photos in about a minute, tells you what they show and what to shoot next, and puts a licensed public adjuster on the phone with you, 24/7, in English or Spanish. Free, with no obligation.

How Start My Claim Works

1
Photograph the damage
Wide shots of each damaged area, then close-ups. Include the source if you can see it: the roof, the pipe, the window. Up to 5 photos here; bring the rest to the call.
2
Upload and tell us where you are
Your name, phone, the property’s state and the kind of damage. That is all. Photos are read once and then deleted.
3
Read what the photos show
In about a minute: the damage visible, what the photos cannot tell us yet, what to photograph next, and what not to throw away or repair before an inspection.
4
Talk to a licensed public adjuster
Call the number on the result screen, or wait for the call: a licensed Homeland public adjuster has your photos and calls you back right away, 24/7.
What this is, and isn’t. Start My Claim is an automated first look at your photos so the adjuster who calls has seen what you see. It does not price the damage and does not tell you what your policy covers; a licensed public adjuster covers both on the call. General information, not legal or insurance advice.

Start My Claim FAQs

Does uploading photos file a claim with my insurance company?
No. It gets your damage in front of a licensed public adjuster. Reporting the loss to the insurer is a separate step, and the adjuster will walk you through when and how to do it so nothing is said or signed that hurts the claim.
Should I call the insurance company first?
Call us first. You have time to report the loss (in Florida, one year from the date of loss under §627.70132), and what you say on that first call becomes part of the file. A licensed public adjuster helps you report it correctly.
What if I have more than 5 photos?
Upload the five that show the most. Bring the rest to the call, or email them to the adjuster who calls you; the inspection covers everything.
Is this free?
Yes. The photo read and the call are free, with no obligation. If you hire Homeland afterward, the fee is a percentage of what the insurer pays, set in a written contract, and nothing if the claim pays nothing.
Can I start a claim that already happened a while ago?
Yes. If the damage is older, choose “Longer ago” and the adjuster will check the deadlines that apply. Florida allows one year to report a claim and 18 months for a supplemental claim; New Jersey follows the policy’s notice clause.
