Before you call Slide

Call us first. We read your policy, then report the claim to Slide in writing, with the facts and photos that support it.
Before anything is thrown out, photograph and video every room, the roof and the outside, and keep damaged items. Make only the repairs needed to stop more damage, and keep every receipt.
Talk to us before you give a statement or sign anything, whether it comes from the insurance company or a contractor.
We get the full policy, not just the declarations page, because the endorsements and exclusions decide the claim.

Your deadlines and Slide’s, in Florida

Notice of the claim must be given within 1 year of the date of loss for a new or reopened claim, and within 18 months for a supplemental claim (Fla. Stat. §627.70132). We give that notice for you.
The insurer acknowledges your claim within 7 days, sends you its adjuster’s detailed estimate within 7 days after the adjuster prepares it, and pays or denies within 60 days of notice unless factors beyond its control intervene (Fla. Stat. §627.70131).
If you disagree on the amount, your options include re-documenting and negotiating, the appraisal clause in your policy, and free mediation through the Florida Department of Financial Services. See every option, compared.

Where Slide claims most often need help

Slide writes mostly homeowners policies, plus rental dwellings and condo units, so its claims are mainly roof, wind and water losses on homes. Roof claims often turn on Florida’s roof-repair and matching rules (roof-repair code change, matching), and water claims on the policy’s water provisions ($10,000 sublimit).

How Homeland helps with your Slide claim

We represent you, not the insurance company. We read your policy, document the loss, prepare a line-item estimate, and handle the claim with Slide’s adjusters from start to finish, in English or Spanish. If Slide has already paid or denied, upload the letter or estimate to Claim Review for a free first read.
